DISINFO: Russian women are endlessly happy whereas those in the West are oppressed
SUMMARY
Today, Russian women, irrespective of their ethnic belonging and place of birth, are endlessly happy. This is so mostly because they are free to choose their professions and make life choices as they please. In contrast, western women are cornered in the reservations of political correctness. They have to follow the globalist agenda and, for instance, are nearly deprived of the right to advocate anti-abortion views. Low fertility does not provoke hysterics and panic in Russia as it does in the West. Demographic problems are on Russia's political debate agenda, and their solutions are based on social accord and women’s freedoms.

The article’s message is consistent with the recurring pro-Kremlin disinformation narrative claiming that Western liberalism is a totalitarian ideology that controls politics, culture, science, education, art and all aspects of life. By portraying liberal democracies as inferior to authoritarian systems, this disinformation message aims to deflect criticism on Russia’s increasingly authoritarian model despite its lack of freedoms, its persecution of opposition members and activists, its massive corruption, its economic stagnation and its declining living standards, through the false claim that democracies are even worse.
There is no factual evidence that women in western countries have fewer rights and freedoms than they do in Russia. Liberal societies are based on freedom of thought and expression, as well as openness in all aspects of social and cultural life. Authoritarian and totalitarian regimes, instead, often severely limit personal freedoms. In the 2023 edition of the global Women Peace and Security Index, Russia ranked 56th out of 177 countries in terms of women’s inclusion, justice, and security. Western countries generally fared better, with the ten highest ranked countries in the world being Denmark, Switzerland, Sweden, Finland, Luxembourg, Iceland, Norway, Austria, Netherlands, and New Zealand.
