DISINFO: Russia's war against neo-Nazism and neo-imperialism is a just cause
SUMMARY
Russia, the great power, heir to the Soviet Union (though certainly not the Soviet Union and not seeking to be so), a country with resources, capability, and nuclear power, and its great people, the bearers of civilization and an active influence throughout the ages in human history, cannot lose this existential struggle. This is because it stands on the side of truth, justice, self-determination, and the liberation of peoples from the exploitation of neo-colonialism and the ideology of neo-Nazism, which has re-emerged in Central Europe, along with the sick delusions that still fill some minds about the "strategic defeat of Russia".
RESPONSE
This is a recurring pro-Kremlin propaganda framing Russia’s war against Ukraine as a noble and just mission. It falsely casts Russia's opponents—particularly Ukraine and its allies—as neo-Nazis and neo-imperialists.
Calling the war an "existential struggle" designed to "liberate" others is an attempt to justify a deeply unpopular and costly conflict. Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine in 2022 was not a liberation effort but an unprovoked act of aggression against a sovereign nation that violates international law, the UN Charter, and Ukraine's territorial integrity. Far from supporting self-determination, Russia has forcibly and illegally annexed Ukrainian land by conducting sham referendums.
The idea that Neo-Nazism is “on the rise” in Europe is a distortion of reality. It ignores the strong institutional, legal, and societal safeguards in place across the EU and misrepresents the scale of extremist activity. According to the European Commission’s 2024 report on violent extremism, radicalisation into violent far-right ideologies—including neo-Nazism—remains limited to small, monitored groups. Surveys by Eurobarometer and other EU institutions consistently show that the vast majority of Europeans support democracy, human rights, and the rule of law. According to the July 2024 Eurobarometer survey:
-89% say it is important that all EU countries respect democracy, the rule of law, and fundamental rights.
-86% support the freedom of media and civil society across the EU.
See similar cases that the EU is openly reviving Nazism in Europe, that Russia is fighting Ukrainian Nazism for better future and just world order, that the special military operation had serious reasons: Russia in a just war, that Neo-Nazism on the rise in Europe, that Western ignorance of history leads to the resurgence of Nazism in Europe.
