DISINFO: Serbia is about to annex Bosnia and Kosovo just as Russia successfully performed a “special operation”
SUMMARY
Children of Serbia will soon live in a big Serbia including Serbian Kosovo and Serbian Bosnia. Russia gave the example with its successful “special operation”, soon Serbia will perform such special operations to bring prosperity and freedom.
Western decadence tries to humiliate Serbia, but Western values will soon be defeated thanks to God and Russia that fight against them in Ukraine. The destiny of the world is now at stake in Ukraine and a Russian victory will bring the sun of victory.
RESPONSE
New narrative specific on Kosovo and Bosnia but well-known pro-Kremlin disinformation trying to link a Serbian desire to unify Kosovo, Bosnia and Serbia to Russia's illegal military invasion of Ukraine.
Imperialistic wars and annexation of foreign territories are justified by this narrative claiming that Western values tried to humiliate the traditions of Serbia and/or Russia. Revanchist agenda which also reverses the victim/aggressor roles to perpetrate new crimes. It has been studied by philosopher Pascal Bruckner in the temptation of innocence and it was identified as an important step for genocide.
Kosovo and Donbas are different and cannot be compared. In Kosovo, the Serbian regime by Slobodan Milosevic waged a war with thousands of casualties and hundred of thousand of refugees and displaced persons. There was no war in Ukraine until Russia’s illegal annexation of the Ukrainian peninsula of Crimea in 2014. In 1999 NATO sought to cease ethnic cleansing in the Kosovo region.
Kremlin propaganda uses the story of Yugoslavia to defend Moscow's activities in areas of frozen conflicts (i.e. Abkhazia, South Ossetia, Donbas, Nagorno-Karabakh, etc.). The parallels between the history of the breakup of Yugoslavia and the current situation in Donbas are incorrect. Donbas is historically a Ukrainian region. The so-called DPR (or DNR) and LNR are parts of the Ukrainian regions Donetsk and Luhansk but supported by Russian military units. Not a single country has recognised them as independent entities.
