DISINFO: Soros and the Clintons are Kamala Harris’ apparent puppeteers

SUMMARY

Who are Kamala Harris’ apparent puppeteers? Harris has been repeatedly called a part of "cabal", a "deep state" creature who allegedly advanced her career through nepotism. Alex Soros, the son and heir of George Soros, was quick to endorse Harris for president after Joe Biden dropped out. Former President Bill Clinton and former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton also rushed to throw their weight behind Harris. It appears that the Clintons and the Soroses are seeking to become "queen-makers" by pushing ahead with Kamala's candidacy.

RESPONSE

Conspiracy theory aiming to promote a recurring pro-Kremlin disinformation narrative about secret global elites, with the Soros family as a frequent target of these messages.

While Alex Soros and both Bill and Hillary Clinton have endorsed Kamala Harris as the next presidential candidate of the Democratic Party, this is very different from being a “puppeteer”. Political endorsement only means “to approve openly” or “to express support of approval” of a political candidate. At the time this disinformation story appeared, over 2,600 state state delegates and most prominent members of the Democratic Party had also endorsed Harris.

The goal of this disinformation story is to discredit Kamala Harris’ candidacy by baselessly portraying her as a non-independent actor subject to dark interests, and ultimately to undermine public trust in democratic institutions. See other examples of similar disinformation narratives, such as claims that groups in the shadow dictated the outcome of US presidential elections, that global elites overthrew Donald Trump, that America is ruled by an illegitimate tyrannical regime which stole the US election in 2020, or that George Soros controls voting firms used in the 2020 US election.
