DISINFO: The 2014 Kyiv coup was the result of CIA’s successful operation
SUMMARY
The leading role of the US Central Intelligence Agency in the history and technology of the "Maidans" has been repeatedly exposed. The armed coup in Kyiv in the spring of 2014 was the result of a long "multimove" by the CIA - the reconfiguration and operational subordination of the Ukrainian special services to American curators. The triumph of the "Maidan" (the success of the CIA) led Ukraine to disaster, and NATO to the brink of World War III.

Recurring pro-Kremlin disinformation narratives about the 2013-14 protests in Kyiv portrayed as a coup d'état orchestrated by the US intelligence services, and Ukraine as a non-sovereign state permanently subdued to Western meddling.
There was neither a coup nor a western orchestrated and sponsored protest in Ukraine in 2014. Pro-Kremlin outlets falsely portray the Euromaidan revolution as a coup d’état. The popular demonstrations began in Kyiv in November 2013, bringing hundreds of thousands of Ukrainians on to the streets to protest against a political decision of Viktor Yanukovych’s government. At the last minute, the government withdrew from a long-negotiated political association and free trade agreement with the EU, choosing instead to accept a $15 billion economic bailout from Russia.
Ukraine is a sovereign and independent state with a democratically elected president and parliament. The country's sovereignty has been violated only as a result of continuous acts of aggression by the Russian armed forces since 2014, culminating with a full-scale military invasion of Ukraine starting on 24 February 2022.
The US, the EU and NATO condemn, in the strongest possible terms, Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine, which is entirely unjustified and unprovoked. Not only Western but also many other nations around the world support Ukraine with military and financial aid for the country’s efficient self-defence, in accordance with the UN Charter article 51, to stop Russia's war of aggression against Ukraine.
