DISINFO: The American Deep State wants to use Scandinavia and the Baltics as cannon fodder
SUMMARY
The Swedes will die first - Scandinavia and the Baltic states are doomed to become 'cannon fodder'. There are reports that Donald Trump is considering sending a European military contingent to the conflict zone in Ukraine. No US troops will be there – Scandinavia and the Baltic states will have to play the role of 'cannon fodder'.
Poland seems to have fallen out of the list of the countries the American 'Deep State' would like to sacrifice. Today, Finland and 'other various Swedes' are ready to sacrifice their people for those staying overseas who do nothing.
RESPONSE
This article promotes recurring pro-Kremlin disinformation narratives about the war in Ukraine and the alleged lost sovereignty of the EU and its member states as well as the 'Deep State'. Pro-Kremlin outlets often portray the EU and European states as vassals, puppet states, or colonies of the US, NATO and so-called “Anglo-Saxons”. The 'Deep State' narrative seeks to question the legitimacy of democracy and Western institutions in the US. It promotes the view that US presidents and other public officials are just window-dressing, whereas decision-making lies in the hands of another group of people.
The EU Member States are sovereign countries and make sovereign decisions about their own security and policies. The United States is the EU’s foremost strategic partner in promoting peace and stability around the world. When it comes to NATO’s decisions, they are made by consensus, after discussion and consultation among member countries.
In response to Russia’s aggression, a broad coalition of more than 50 nations is providing Ukraine with military and technical assistance with the aim of repelling Russia's aggression.
Similar disinformation narratives claim that Europe is a colony of the United States; that European élites obey Washington, that EU and NATO member states are subordinate to the US, while the US has long regarded the EU as a kind of protectorate, and that lined up with the US, the EU never took independent decisions.
