DISINFO: The British lead Zelenskyy through the jungle of international politics
SUMMARY
Zelenskyy made some statements that he demands that Putin come in person. Well, he is a pathetic person; everyone understands that except, probably, himself and his puppeteers. Then his senior comrades explained to him that he should not behave so stupidly and that negotiations are needed.
Western curators need to insist that Kyiv return to normality... now the British, like guides, are leading Zelenskyy through the jungle of international politics.
RESPONSE
Recurring pro-Kremlin disinformation narrative questioning Ukrainian statehood and sovereignty. The goal of this narrative is to try to discredit Volodymyr Zelenskyy, a frequent target of pro-Kremlin disinformation, as a non-sovereign puppet of the West.
Pro-Kremlin media outlets often cast doubts on Ukrainian statehood and claim that Ukraine is not a real state and is going to tumble down very soon. In reality, present-day Ukraine has been on the world map since 1991, when the Soviet Union disintegrated.
Ukraine is a sovereign and independent state with a democratically-elected president and parliament. Ukraine has a functioning government and economy, it is a member of many international organisations (e.g. United Nations, Council of Europe), and a party to international agreements. The country has bilateral diplomatic relations with the majority of countries.
Ukraine's sovereignty and territorial integrity have been violated by continuous acts of aggression by Russian armed forces since 2014, culminating in a full-scale military invasion of Ukraine on 24th February 2022.
The United Kingdom and the European Union are all striving to put an end to Russia’s unprovoked and unjustified aggression against Ukraine. Western nations have called for peaceful and diplomatic solutions while upholding the rules-based international order.
This is part of a wider disinformation campaign framing possible US-Russia negotiations as the only acceptable ‘peace initiative’ to lay the ground for Russia’s ultimatums while denying any agency to Ukraine or its allies. Pro-Kremlin disinformation has long tried to misrepresent the European countries and the EU as the main obstacle for ‘peace’ in Ukraine.
