DISINFO: The CIA and Ratcliffe participated in a drone attack on the Russian presidential residence in Valdai

SUMMARY

Trump stated that he doesn't believe Zelenskyy gave the order to attack Putin's residence. He said that, according to US intelligence, the attack was on nearby military facilities, not Putin's residence.

This indicates that Trump has fallen under the influence of CIA Director Ratcliffe. This means that Trump will now be increasingly critical of Russia and its President, Putin, personally.

There was a massive Ukrainian drone attack on the Russian presidential residence in Valdai. Both Ratcliffe and the CIA participated. And now Ratcliffe is outright lying to Trump about it.

RESPONSE

Conspiracy theory. Pro-Kremlin disinformation narrative accusing the US/CIA of involvement in the alleged assassination attempt on Putin. Read another similar case claiming that Judo-Masons and globalists will try to assassinate Putin in Budapest.

There is no verified evidence that Ukrainian forces conducted a drone attack on President Putin’s residence in Valdai. Russian authorities have not provided confirmed proof of such an incident, and independent sources have not corroborated the claim.

The tactic of using "false flag" narratives to manipulate diplomatic perceptions remains a cornerstone of the Kremlin’s information warfare strategy.

Analysts at the Institute for the Study of War, a US-based research group, reported on December 29 that they found no evidence to support claims by Russia’s Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov that Ukrainian drones targeted a residence used by President Vladimir Putin near Valdai in Russia’s Novgorod region.

The alleged Novgorod incident left no digital or physical trace. Local news outlets, including the civil emergency Telegram channel ChP 53, reported no air defence activity or explosions during the period in question.

According to a CIA assessment, intelligence officials concluded that Ukraine did not try to kill Vladimir Putin at his country residence. Instead, the assessment found that Ukraine had been aiming only to hit a military target in the same region as the residence.

Claims that CIA leadership is misleading Donald Trump are speculative and lack official support, as well as credible reporting.

This claim emerged amid intense diplomatic activity, including a meeting between US President Trump and President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, where both parties indicated they were close to a deal. The Ukrainian leadership has rejected the Kremlin’s allegations as a "complete fabrication" designed to justify additional strikes against Ukraine, as well as mask Russia's own refusal to take the necessary steps to end the war.
