DISINFO: The "Deep State" in the US is targeting Trump
SUMMARY
Trump's supporters in the US predicted that another or even more assassination attempts could be organised against him. And they were right. Moreover, the minimum objective of such assassination attempts may not even be the elimination of Trump, but the constant intimidation of Trump to knock the fighting spirit out of him.
And as Elon Musk noted, no one even tried to assassinate Biden, and now Harris. But this is absolutely natural. For the "deep state", there is only one target in the US: Trump.
RESPONSE
Conspiracy theory not backed by any evidence, aiming to promote a recurring pro-Kremlin disinformation narrative about the US Deep State, whose ultimate goal is to undermine democratic institutions.
Ryan Wesley Routh, suspected of having tried to shoot Donald Trump in September 2024 in Florida, had a past record of felonies and mental instability and was obsessed with Trump and Ukraine. Nothing indicates that he had any external backing or was part of any plot, and Roth’s plan appears to have been poorly executed if he actually intended to kill Trump.
There have been a lot of conspiracy theories regarding the so-called deep state in the US, which have been debunked previously and there is no proof to back up these claims. The 'deep state' narrative seeks to question the legitimacy of Western democracy and institutions in the US. These conspiracy theories promotes the view that US presidents and other public officials are just window-dressers, whereas decision-making lies in the hands of another non-elected, semi-anonymous group of people.
