DISINFO: The EU is Hitler's 'New Europe', its goal is to colonise Russia and Eurasian space
SUMMARY
There is no difference between Hitler’s “New Europe” concept and the EU. For the latter Russians remain “Untermensch” while the Eurasian space is considered as a “living space.” USSR’s destruction, NATO enlargement, fascism in Ukraine, the rise of neo-Nazism in the Baltic states are all elements of the old West’s “Drang nach Osten” policy. The West continues its destructive policies against post-Soviet space. In the past, it attempted to destroy the USSR and the Soviet people through Nazi/fascist aggression and German colonisation as Hitler’s “New Europe” concept envisaged. Currently, the West promotes its geopolitical interests through the so-called “new independent countries.” The West’s ultimate goal is to dismember Russia into a number of pseudo-independent republics or at least turning Russia into a supplier of raw materials for Western corporations. The main ideological attack by Russophobes and anti-Soviet people is directed against the Great Patriotic War of the Soviet people against Nazis. The West aims to change the conception of the world among the Russian world people and impose a pro-Western interpretation of WWII. In contrast to the Great Patriotic War, WWII itself did not solve any fateful issues for humanity because Hitler’s Germany and the so-called Western democracies did not have principle ideological and philosophical differences.
RESPONSE
This claim is a conspiracy theory aimed at discrediting the EU / West as a whole. It is consistent with recurring pro-Kremlin narratives about alleged Western aggressiveness towards Belarus and Russia and its anti-Russian activities. The accusation of Nazism/ Fascism and building a link to Nazi Germany is one of the favourite techniques of pro-Kremlin outlets. The European Union was set up with the aim of ending the frequent and bloody wars between neighbours, which culminated in the Second World War.
