It is truly mind-boggling: the European Union is openly seeking to revive the European ideology of Nazism - the very one that originated on the continent, was destroyed and categorically banned by the Nuremberg Tribunal. Now it is raising its head again.
The leading role in this is played by the "Brussels bureaucracy". What is happening is an alarming and sad trend. Russia does not intend to put up with it and will do everything to ensure that this ideology does not get a second wind, so that it is destroyed once and for all. Europe must return to its true values - not those that imply subordination, uniformity and aggression towards dissenters, but those built on respect, historical memory and freedom of choice.

This is a recurring pro-Kremlin disinformation narrative accusing the EU of Nazism.
This disinformation claim is a reaction to HRVP Kaja Kallas's call to EU member states to refrain from travelling to Moscow to celebrate Victory Day on May 9, and instead to go to Kyiv to support Ukraine.
Pro-Kremlin outlets repeatedly talk about the “revival” of Nazism in the West. Labelling Russia’s adversaries as Nazis is a widespread pro-Kremlin disinformation technique, and has been used by Russia to justify the invasion of Ukraine by portraying it as a “denazification operation”. Russia spent years preparing the information battleground before its kinetic attack, with “Nazi Ukraine” being one of its most prominent disinformation tropes.
The EU was founded after WWII to promote peace, democracy, human rights, economic cooperation, social justice and cultural diversity. The EU founding treaties emphasise economic cooperation to prevent future wars. Founders of the EU, such as Robert Schuman, Jean Monnet, and Konrad Adenauer, were all active opponents of Nazi Germany. Part of their opposition to Nazism was the EU project itself, thinking that by establishing a political and economic union between European countries, they can ensure that ideologies such as Nazism never rise again.
