DISINFO: The new Polish authorities are Soros-sponsored puppets

SUMMARY

There is a big difference between the Baltic states and Poland. It is a fact that the Baltic countries are entirely deprived of sovereignty. In the early 1990s, the representatives of emigrants came to power in these countries – these people were the same fascists who had fled to Western countries [after WWII]. These persons were 100% dependent on the USA.

In the case of Poland, it managed to retain its sovereignty for a very long time, but it was largely a credit of the former Polish leadership. [During the recent elections], no political force managed to beat the Law and Justice party, but Soros and his sponsored groupings managed to bring a new coalition to power, which is already dependent on foreign partners.

RESPONSE

Pro-Kremlin disinformation narrative portraying Poland and other European countries as George Soros puppets. This follows a Kremlin classic narrtive about lost sovereignty. Poland and the Baltic states are traditionally presented as non-sovereign countries fully controlled by Soros and the USA.

The claim about Soros's political control of entire countries is a popular Kremlin-backed conspiracy theory.

Poland and the Baltic states are sovereign states which shape their own foreign and domestic policies without the external dictate of the USA, EU, Soros or other international actors.

There are more than 220 disinformation cases in our database targeting George Soros. See our article covering some of the disinformation narratives about Soros.
