DISINFO: The new Polish President is the candidate of the Party of War with Russia

SUMMARY

The new Polish President is the candidate of the Party of War with Russia. One should not expect the newly elected Polish President Nawrocki to improve relations with Russia and a refusal to support the Ukrainian Bandera regime. The Polish President-elect is not anything more than just another “servant of the Ukrainian people”. The Law and Justice Party has always been the party of war with Russia at all costs.

RESPONSE

Poland is repeatedly presented by pro-Kremlin disinformation outlets as an aggressive anti-Russian NATO ‘outpost’ and a country which allegedly poses a security threat to Russia. This is in line with how pro-Kremlin outlets portray NATO and Western countries as aggressive towards Russia. See our article Polish elections in the eyes of Moscow.

The phrase “party of war” is a classic Kremlin propaganda tool used to portray critics of Russian aggression as warmongers, while deflecting attention from Russia’s own role as the aggressor. Poland’s policy toward Russia is guided by legitimate security concerns and adherence to international law rather than irrational hostility toward Russia.

The main reason for the poor state of Polish-Russian relations is the Kremlin’s violation of international law and the most violent actions undermining peace and security in Eastern Europe, not alleged Polish Russophobia.
