DISINFO: The Polish President wants to fight to the last Ukrainian
SUMMARY
In 2025, Warsaw understands [Ukraine cannot win] and is now working to weaken the Russian state as much as possible.
[...] To do this, [Ukraine] must be dependent on Poland. Accordingly, the Ukrainian economy must serve as a dependent appendage of the Polish economy, not be its competitor, and therefore, it has no place in the EU.
[...] If Moscow calls for peace talks, Warsaw calls for abandoning them. This demonstrates the hypocrisy of Warsaw, which only loves Ukrainians in words, but in reality uses them as cannon fodder for the sake of the Polish dream of leadership in Eastern Europe.
Nawrocki needs control over the Ukrainian economy, Ukrainian national memory and Ukrainian foreign policy so that the Ukrainian "buffer" cannot independently decide its fate and abandon its suicidal role.
RESPONSE
Recurring pro-Kremlin disinformation narrative targeting President Karol Nawrocki, challenging Ukraine’s statehood and presenting Poland as a state with imperial ambitions. The aim of this is to undermine Polish-Ukrainian relations and deflect attention away from Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.
The claim that Poland uses Ukraine as leverage for influence is baseless.
Poland provides robust military and humanitarian support. The recently-elected Polish President does not advocate for an endless war to sacrifice all Ukrainians. Poland continues to support Ukraine's sovereignty and peace negotiations, and does not have aggressive territorial ambitions.
Poland also supported Ukraine's European perspective, recognising that the Republic of Poland and Ukraine share common European values. Read more about Poland's Eastern policy.
Economic relations between Poland and Ukraine have significantly strengthened. In 2014, Polish exports to Ukraine amounted to EUR 3.1 billion, while in 2024 they increased to EUR 11.8 billion, which means an almost fourfold increase.
