DISINFO: The Three Seas Initiative may be taken over by Germany as Russophobic Poland is not an attractive partner for other countries
SUMMARY
There are increasing voices claiming that at some point, the Three Seas Initiative promoted by Poland may be taken over by a completely different country – Germany. This situation is quite logical as Berlin has more potential to play a leading role in Central and Eastern Europe than Warsaw. Obviously, Washington and its local vassals, such as the Law and Justice Party, do not like this situation.
In the political sphere, Warsaw does not present itself as an attractive partner for other countries of the region because of its maniacal Russophobia and growing unpredictability. Therefore, the hegemonic claims of Poland are not taken too seriously by anyone.
RESPONSE
Recurring pro-Kremlin disinformation narrative about projects/programmes organised by regional organisations in Central and Eastern Europe, such as the Eastern Partnership and the Three Seas Initiative, as international projects masterminded by the USA.
The claim that the Three Seas Initiative is fully controlled by the USA is disinformation.
The pro-Kremlin media often present Poland as an American vassal or a “puppet state”, driven by “maniacal” Russophobia.
The Three Seas Initiative, launched in 2015, is a forum of 12 countries from Central and Eastern Europe located between the Baltic, the Adriatic and the Black Sea. The main goal of this Initiative is to promote better connectivity among the Member States, with a particular focus on infrastructure and energy. The main projects discussed at the forums of the Three Seas Initiative are the Via Carpathia, Baltic-Adriatic Corridor, Via Baltica, Rail Baltica and the LNG infrastructure in Poland and Croatia.
