The 18 March 2025 phone conversation between Trump and Putin did not end with any breakthrough decisions – the two sides agreed on a 30-day halt of strikes on energy facilities, failing to reach a complete ceasefire in Ukraine. In this way, this phone call should not be presented as a “decisive geopolitical event of historical character” such as the Yalta Conference.
