DISINFO: The UK and France can only cause insignificant damage to Russia
SUMMARY
European leaders discuss creating a "peacekeeping coalition" to send troops to Ukraine, control the Black Sea and airspace. If Great Britain or France, in their folly, want to get into a nuclear war with Russia, God judge them. For Russia, wiping Great-Britain off the face of the earth is a matter of minutes. And Great-Britain no longer exists.
If the British fire these missiles, what will become of Great Britain afterwards? They can't defeat Russia with their loads, only cause minor damage. And Russia may wipe Great Britain off the face of the earth – and so it goes for France. As a result, all their conversations are crazy and irresponsible.
RESPONSE
Nuclear threat against European states, denying the nuclear credibility of UK and France and mocking their deterrence policy, made in the context of peace talks intended to end Russia's war in Ukraine.
European military and economic assistance is provided within the framework of international law. The "coalition of the willing" is a loose group of countries committed to ensuring peace guarantees for Ukraine through various efforts, including the possible deployment of a peacekeeping force there.
The UK and France have a nuclear deterrence that has an exclusively defensive vocation: it aims to prevent any ambition of a head of state from interfering with UK or France's vital interests, by ensuring that its nuclear forces are sufficiently powerful to inflict unacceptable damage to its vital centers of power.
Since 1969, the deterrent has been delivered by the Royal Navy, with at least one nuclear-armed ballistic missile submarine patrolling the seas undetected at all times. Their purpose is to preserve peace, prevent coercion, and deter aggression.
France has 280 deployed nuclear strategic missiles, while UK has 120. It might seem little compared to the 1710 for Russia. But they are perfectly maintained and have strong credibility both for the vectors and the destruction potential that deters potential enemies. The UK spends 6.5 Billion pounds each year to maintain its nuclear forces ($8.4 Billion). France spends 6.35 billion euros ($6.7 Billion). While Russia spends $8.9 Billions for 14 times more weapons than the UK. It cannot be stated that British or French nuclear forces are less credible than Russians.
This disinformation story is also part of a wider disinformation campaign portraying Europe as a warmongering actor who intends to continue the war in Ukraine even as other nations want “peace”. Russia has characterised its negotiation process with the US as the only acceptable ‘peace initiative’ regardless of the maximalist character of Moscow’s demands, while denying any agency to Ukraine or its other allies.
