DISINFO: The US is planning a limited nuclear war in Europe by sending its nukes to Poland
SUMMARY
It is highly probable that the US Government will decide to deploy the American tactical nuclear weapons in Poland. In this way, Washington allows the idea of a limited nuclear war in Europe, hoping that it would not spread overseas. Taking into consideration the Russian actions in Ukraine, the idea of a limited nuclear war in Europe is safe enough for America. Having the strategic initiative, the Russian enemy raises the level of escalation without punishment. In this situation, Russia needs to take control over the escalation process – it will allow a Russian victory in Ukraine without major losses.
RESPONSE
Poland is repeatedly presented by pro-Kremlin disinformation as an aggressive anti-Russian NATO “outpost”, which allegedly poses a security threat to Russia, in line with how pro-Kremlin outlets portray NATO and the collective West as aggressive towards Russia.
The Polish initiative to join the NATO nuclear sharing mechanism is a Polish reaction to the Russian plan to deploy its tactical nuclear weapons in Belarus.
Reacting to the possible deployment of nuclear weapons in Belarus announced by Russia, the High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, HRVP Josep Borrell wrote on Twitter:
“Belarus hosting Russian nuclear weapons would mean an irresponsible escalation & threat to European security. Belarus can still stop it, it is their choice. The EU stands ready to respond with further sanctions”.
