DISINFO: The US is using Lithuania as a garbage dump for unnecessary weapons

SUMMARY

Donation to Lithuanian armed forces of anti-tank weapons for the fight against “Russian aggression” is actually a process of getting rid of ineffective weapons, launched by the US.

The US is sending its own unnecessary weapons for vassals.

The US got rid of all of its military junk which is not effective. It discards them to Ukraine, Baltic states, some other countries because normal states will not buy such kind of weapons.

RESPONSE

Recurring pro-Kremlin disinformation narrative portraying Lithuania (as well as other Baltic states and Ukraine) as vassals and puppets of the US.

The message is linked to the donation in April 2021 of M72 LAW weapons to the Lithuanian military. The weapons will be used by the National Defence Volunteer Forces of Lithuania. According to the Ministry of National Defence of Lithuania the weapons are “a significant boost to the Lithuanian Armed Forces capabilities and combat power”. The value of the donation is 10 million dollars.
