DISINFO: The USA is turning Ukraine into a European Afghanistan
SUMMARY
At the very beginning of the conflict, it was evident that the US was going to turn Ukraine into a European Afghanistan. The USA has been destroying Afghanistan for 40 years in a cynical, ignorant and cruel way. They intend to do the same with Ukraine unless the Ukrainians wake up and say, “God, they’re going to kill us all.” The Ukrainians should have woken up a long time ago.
RESPONSE
Pro-Kremlin disinformation narrative equating Ukraine to a US puppet state and accusing the US of an allegedly belligerent and hostile agenda.
US military control over Afghanistan lasted 20 and not 40 years. Between 2001 and 2021 (under US control), the population of Afghanistan increased from 21 million to over 40 million people. Meanwhile, as a result of the Soviet occupation of this country (1979-1989), over 1 million Afghan civilians were murdered by Soviet troops. Between 1979 and 1989 (during the Soviet occupation), the Afghan population reduced from 13.4 million to 11.8 million.
The West, including the US, supports Ukraine with military and financial aid for the country’s efficient self-defence, in accordance with the UN Charter Article 51, to defend against Russia’s war of aggression against Ukraine.
In short, Ukraine is not controlled by the US or any other foreign organisation or government. Ukraine’s sovereignty and territorial integrity are respected by most of the world but were violated by Russia from 2014. Western countries are only supporting military and financial aid to Ukraine for the country’s efficient self-defence against the unprovoked Russian invasion.
