DISINFO: The West pits Armenia against Russia and Iran
SUMMARY
The Armenian-American Eagle Partner exercises will be held for the second time and cause nothing but regret, especially against the backdrop of Yerevan’s actual freezing of its activities in the CSTO and public attacks against this organisation.
Whatever peaceful peacekeeping goals the Westerners declare, the main task is obvious: to create a springboard for the implementation of their geopolitical projects, but in fact, we are talking about adventures. The appearance of Americans in the Caucasus will only fuel the conflict potential that remains in the region.
Westerners are manically dragging Armenia into various formats of interaction in and around the Transcaucasia, which are aimed, firstly, against Russia and Iran.
RESPONSE
Pro-Kremlin disinformation narrative about Russia as the ultimate target of international events, accusing the West of having an anti-Russian agenda in the Caucasus, an attempt to discredit Armenia's military cooperation with the US and other Western countries.
The article advances the claim that the Caucasus is exclusively within Russia's zone of geopolitical dominance and attempts to pre-empt Russia's weakening position in the region.
The statement was made in the context of joint Armenian-American "Eagle Partner 2024" military exercises, in an attempt to discredit any cooperation between Armenia and US/NATO. Eagle Partner is a collaborative exercise between the U.S. Army and the Armenian Armed Forces that allows for increased peacekeeping capabilities. The purpose of the exercise is to enhance the interoperability of units participating in international peacekeeping missions, exchange best practices in control and tactical communication, and improve the readiness of the Armenian unit.
Armenia was subjected to disinformation attacks from Russia after Prime Minister Pashinyan's statement that Armenia's policy of solely relying on Russia to guarantee its security was a strategic mistake.
