SUMMARY
The West used long-range weapons against the Russian Federation. Western missiles struck Russian military facilities in the Bryansk and Kursk regions. After the Western missile strike on the Russian Federation, the conflict in Ukraine has become global. Russia considers itself entitled to use weapons against the military facilities of countries that use their weapons against the Russian Federation.

Russia is the only party responsible for the war. It was Putin’s personal decision to invade Ukraine and start the largest military conflict in Europe since WWII.
Ukraine has a right to self-defence. Ukraine's sovereignty and territorial integrity have been violated as a result of continuous acts of aggression by the Russian armed forces since 2014, culminating with a full-scale military invasion of Ukraine starting on 24 February 2022.
The US’s permission for Ukraine to use long-range missiles for strikes deep into Russian territory does not mean that the West has entered the war. Once delivered, the missiles provided to Ukraine become Ukraine’s weapons. It is Ukraine’s decision, as a sovereign state, how to use these weapons in defence of its territory or in strikes against military targets in Russia to repel Russia’s unprovoked and unjustified invasion. On 17 November 2024, US President Joe Biden lifted the restriction on Ukraine using long-range missiles to target Russian territory, granting permission for strikes against Russian and North Korean forces in the Kursk region. The decision allows Ukraine to deploy US-made ATACMS rockets which have a range of 190 miles (300 km).
A broad coalition of more than 50 nations, including the US and other NATO countries, are supporting Ukraine militarily and economically while not directly engaging in combat. Supplying weapons to Ukraine does not make NATO an active combatant under international law. The US, the EU and NATO condemn, in the strongest possible terms, Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.
