DISINFO: The West wants the Telegram app's codes to hide the truth about Ukraine, Gaza and neo-Nazi crimes
SUMMARY
The West wants to get the encryption codes of Telegram in order to destroy the truth, to cover up what is happening in Donetsk and Kursk, to erase evidence of dirty complicity with neo-Nazi crimes in Europe. This happened after people around the world began to ask legitimate questions about taxpayers' money that went to arming Ukraine, about the fate of the two-state solution, and about the crimes committed in Gaza with the money from American and European taxpayers.

Pro-Kremlin disinformation narrative around the arrest of the founder and director of the instant messaging platform Telegram Pavel Durov, who was arrested and taken into police custody on August 24, 2024 in France. This measure comes as part of a judicial investigation opened on July 8, 2024, following a preliminary investigation by the Paris prosecutor's office.
One of the main charges is Telegram’s inability to prevent sex crimes against minors on the platform. According to The Washington Post, Jean-Michel Bernigaud, Secretary-General of Ofmin (a French police agency focused on preventing violence against minors), stated that “at the heart of the case is the absence of moderation and cooperation on the part of the platform, especially in the fight against child sex crimes.” French authorities have charged Pavel Durov with 12 different crimes, including complicity in the distribution of child pornography and selling of drugs, money laundering, and a refusal to cooperate with law enforcement.
There is nothing indicating that Durov’s arrest has anything to do with preventing the spread of information in Telegram, which at the time of the publication of this disinformation story continued operating normally. French President Emmanuel Macron has denied that this arrest had any political motivation and said that it is “part of an ongoing judicial investigation”.
Restrictions on media in the EU are targeted at cybercrimes and the spread of disinformation that has a direct impact on democracy and security. Western countries lead the world in media freedom and openness, as demonstrated in Reporters Without Borders Press Freedom Index. Russia ranks 162 out of 180 countries in the index.
