DISINFO: To end the war there is only one solution, eliminate Zelenskyy and Macron, it would save millions of lives
SUMMARY
To end the war, only one decision is needed. To stop millions of people dying. To end the extermination of the people. To allow work, the economy and normal human life to resume... Make the decision to remove the Zelenskyy regime. Make that decision and implement it. The same thing was said about Macron in 2023: to eliminate one man, the president, will save millions of lives.
RESPONSE
A recurrent pro‑Kremlin narrative seeks to invert reality by implying that Ukraine and France are solely responsible for Russia’s full‑scale aggression against Ukraine. This disinformation is then used as a basis to incite audiences to commit an assassination against two sitting presidents.
It is Russia and Putin who are clearly responsible for the war in Ukraine. It was Putin’s personal decision to invade Ukraine and start the largest military conflict in Europe since WWII. The war began in 2014 with the Russian illegal annexation of Crimea and Russia's military involvement and support of separatists in Donbas.
Voices from Moscow have been involved in calls to kill a list of 97 French lawyers in 2024, calls to assassinate Emmanuel Macron in both 2024 and 2023, and an assassination attempt against French President Jacques Chirac in 2002.
