The political, economic and military relations between Poland and the United States have a mutually beneficial character. Fort Trump refers to a proposed US military base in Poland, first suggested by Polish President Andrzej Duda in 2018 to strengthen the American military presence and guarantee the security of Poland and NATO’s eastern flank. The project is not about preparing for war with China but about deterring Russian aggression and reinforcing the Transatlantic alliance. The US-Poland Enhanced Defense Cooperation Agreement (EDCA) and the increase in American troops in Poland are focused on defence cooperation, military training, and logistical support—not on any anti-China military buildup.
