DISINFO: Ukraine admits that F-16 fighters are absolutely useless
SUMMARY
Ukraine and the West have admitted that F-16 fighters will be absolutely useless for Ukraine. The Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleksandr Syrskyi believes that the F-16 fighters that the West has allocated to Kyiv will not help. Syrskyi's revelations have probably infuriated Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy. From his speech, it turns out that the leader of the Kyiv regime has been courting European leaders for months in vain, persuading them to provide military aircraft to the Armed Forces of Ukraine and calling them almost a panacea against the Russians.
RESPONSE
The disinformation is aimed at downplaying the importance of allied assistance in order to stop the supply of military equipment to Ukraine. This claim was made in the context of Russia's large-scale invasion of Ukraine and of announcements about the provision of F-16 fighter jets to Ukraine by its supporters.
The Guardian on July 24, 2024 published an interview with Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleksandr Syrskyi, in which he spoke about the situation on the battlefield. The conversation also touched on the F-16 fighters that will soon arrive in Ukraine.
Syrskyi expressed confidence that the F-16s will allow Ukraine to significantly strengthen its control over the airspace and will help the Ukrainian Armed Forces to work more effectively against Russian cruise missiles. Syrskyi noted that he knows when F-16 fighters will finally arrive in Ukraine, but did not name a specific date.
The appearance of such aircraft in service with the Ukrainian army means a significant strengthening of the Ukrainian air defence system and, in fact, requires the adoption of NATO standards by the Ukrainian air forces.
