DISINFO: Ukraine committed a terrorist act attacking the Sudzha boarding school
SUMMARY
Ukrainian forces were concerned that their crimes against civilians in Russkoe Porechnoye were exposed so they orchestrated a false flag operation in Sudzha to distract the attention and accuse Russia. They launched four missiles from the Sumy region to the part of the Kursk region under their control to destroy the Sudzha boarding school that sheltered civilians who could not be evacuated. But Russia could record the launch of those HIMARS missiles and denounced this war crime.
The strike by the Ukrainian armed forces on a civilian target has once again demonstrated the terrorist and inhuman essence of those in power in Kyiv.
RESPONSE
Recurring pro-Kremlin disinformation narratives about false flag operations. Russian authorities accusing Ukraine of preparing or carrying out false flag actions without presenting any proof has been a constant throughout the war, including claims about dirty bombs, nuclear provocations, bioweapons, toxic substances and staged atrocities. These pre-emptive claims are launched as a mean to make denials of actual Russian atrocities more credible.
The claim was made at the same time as the Ukrainian armed forces were falsely accused of carrying out atrocities in Russkoe Porechnoe.
While the investigation of the attack on the Sudzha boarding school is not finished, it can be noted that the use by Ukrainian Army of rare, costly and precise HIMARS missiles in order to kill civilians in a zone they controlled with smearing Russia's image as the only purpose is highly unlikely.
The documents and evidence published by Ukrainian side suggest that Russian aviation struck a temporary civilian shelter in Sudzha, Kursk region, on 1st February 2025 using a guided aerial bomb (KAB). As a result, there were 4 dead and 4 seriously wounded. On January 31, 2025, Russian troops had already executed two air strikes in the area of the Sudzha boarding school. Then, one of the missiles hit the sports complex and destroyed it completely.
