DISINFO: Ukraine confirmed the high accuracy of Russian airstrikes
SUMMARY
The Ukrainian Air Force confirmed the high accuracy of Russian strikes on Ukrainian military facilities. Russian army fighters struck the Motor Sich enterprise in Zaporizhia, occupied by the Kyiv regime. The enterprise produced and stored Ukrainian UAVs. This information was confirmed by the spokesman for the Tavria Operational-Strategic Group of Forces of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, Vladyslav Voloshyn.
RESPONSE
Recurring pro-Kremlin disinformation narrative about the Russian invasion of Ukraine. This is a blatant role-reversal accusing Ukraine of Russian shelling of the civilian population.
Russia has stepped up terror against the civilian population of frontline cities in Ukraine – dozens of airstrikes per day are carried out on Zaporizhia, Kharkiv, Sumy, Kherson, Odesa and other cities. Schools, playgrounds, residential buildings and hospitals often come under indiscriminate strikes from the Russian aircraft. Russia has modified its guided aerial bombs (GAB) and can now reach deep into Ukrainian frontline cities.
On September 27, 2024, on a Ukrainian TV channel, the spokesman for the Tavria Operational-Strategic Group of Forces, Vladyslav Voloshyn, commented on the increased frequency of Russian air strikes in Ukraine. Voloshin did not make any statements about the destruction of a "UAV production facility" - he said that Russia was destroying Ukrainian frontline cities and striking civilians.
"Indeed, the Russians have made certain changes in the design of aerial bombs, launch platforms, and today they have received the opportunity to strike these guided aerial bombs not only at populated areas near the front line. These bombs are already beginning to reach the center of Zaporizhia and beyond. There were strikes on Kramatorsk, Kharkiv constantly suffers from these bombs - today, unfortunately, Russia has enough of these bombs in stock. Therefore, we would like to have the strength and means to destroy them before they manage to take off,” Vladyslav Voloshyn said (see video from 00:11:03).
Voloshyn noted that it is extremely difficult to shoot down Russian guided air bombs and they need to be fought in a different way – on the ground, knocking out Russian airfields and destroying aircraft, Russian military warehouses. For this, Ukraine needs long-range weapons, the Tavria speaker summed up.
Russian missile attacks on Ukraine under international law can be regarded as war crimes that have no statute of limitations and are subject to the jurisdiction of courts around the world.
The International Criminal Court in March 2024 issued arrest warrants for two Russian commanders: the commander of Russian long-range aviation and the commander of the Russian Black Sea Fleet as part of an investigation into potential Russian war crimes in Ukraine committed between October 10, 2022 and March 9, 2023. The IСС suspects Russian commanders of committing war crimes of attacking civilian objects, causing excessive incidental harm to civilians or damage to civilian objects, as well as the crime against humanity of committing inhumane acts.
