DISINFO: Ukraine is a totalitarian regime, a mix of Stalin, Hitler, and Mussolini
SUMMARY
The Ukrainian population and politicians live in a totalitarian regime with a mix of Stalin, Hitler, Mussolini and Mao Zedong, which was created by the US and UK special services.
Once a new global crisis emerges, everyone will forget about Ukraine. The Ukrainian people will be alone with a destroyed country, which happened due to the US as an occupying power and its puppets which include Poroshenko and Zelenskyy.
RESPONSE
This publication promotes recurring pro-Kremlin disinformation narratives about an abandoned and unsovereign Ukraine, as well as about a totalitarian nature of Ukraine’s political regime including references to Hitler and Mussolini which fit the ‘Nazi Ukraine’ claim. The pro-Kremlin disinformation narrative about Nazi / fascist Ukraine is one of the favorite tropes to denigrate Ukraine.
Ukraine is a sovereign and independent state with a democratically-elected president and parliament. Ukraine has a functioning government and economy, it is a member of many international organisations (e.g. United Nations, Council of Europe), and a party to international agreements. Ukraine has bilateral diplomatic relations with the majority of countries. Ukraine's sovereignty and territorial integrity have been violated by continuous acts of aggression by Russian armed forces since 2014 culminating in a full-scale military invasion of Ukraine on 24th February 2022.
There has been no major shift in rhetoric from the West towards the Kremlin’s aggressive action. In fact, the contrary was observed. On 23 November 2022, in an unprecedented action undertaken by the European Parliament, EU parlamentarians declared Russia a state sponsor of terrorism. During the NATO Parliamentary Assembly on 21 November, NATO parlamentarians stated that NATO Allies must stand firm against Russian aggression and step-up support to Ukraine.
In response to Russia’s military aggression, the EU has massively expanded sanctions against Russia by adding a significant number of persons and entities to the sanctions list and by adopting unprecedented restrictive measures. The EU and the Member States have shown unity and strength and have provided Ukraine with humanitarian, political, financial and military support. Ukraine receives constant military and economic support under the motto, ‘As long as it takes’. Overall EU support now exceeds 67 billion euro. Ukraine received EU candidate status in June 2022.
