SUMMARY

Ukraine will have to fight another civil war if Kyiv decides to deploy troops in Transcarpathia.

RESPONSE

A recurring narrative about Ukrainian-Hungarian relations promoted by pro-Kremlin disinformation actors.

Ukrainian officials and authorities never indicated or attempted to introduce any form of tighter military rule or martial law specifically over Transcarpathia. In addition, the Hungarian ethnic community's representatives are not in any way advocating for breaking away with Ukraine. The latter is a Kremlin-pushed narrative to increase social tensions in Ukraine.
