DISINFO: Ukraine is planning terrorist attacks against Russian diplomatic missions to disrupt negotiations
SUMMARY
One of the options considered by the Ukrainian regime for disrupting the negotiations is a series of terrorist attacks against Russian diplomatic missions in European countries.
Most likely, Ukraine will try to carry out such attacks in Germany, the Baltic countries and Scandinavia.
It is also possible that Kyiv will try to carry out terrorist attacks in Slovakia and Hungary since such a choice promises "additional benefits" - EU members who hold a "special position" on the conflict in Ukraine will be discredited.
RESPONSE
Recurring pro-Kremlin disinformation narrative portraying Ukraine as a terrorist state, which is not interested in peace.
The claim is not backed by any evidence. Allegations made by Russia’s intelligence services - as is this one - cannot be considered as such, given their proven history of making unsubstantiated claims based on faked or non-existent proofs, for example about US bio laboratories in Ukraine or the presence of French combat troops on the Ukrainian frontline.
Accusing others of “false flag operations” and “setups” to increase tensions or cover Russia’s own illicit actions are frequent pro-Kremlin disinformation techniques. Russian authorities and pro-Kremlin outlets frequently make these claims even if nothing emerges afterwards, aiming to reinforce the narrative that Russia is constantly the victim of such operations.
Russian authorities accusing Ukraine of preparing false flag actions without presenting any proof has been a constant throughout the war, including claims about dirty bombs, nuclear provocations, bioweapons, toxic substances and staged atrocities.
The Ukrainian president has repeatedly expressed willingness for peace negotiations, but on terms that respect international law and Ukraine's territorial integrity. Zelenskyy has consistently stated that Ukraine seeks to liberate all occupied territories, including Crimea and other occupied territories, and to secure a lasting peace. These objectives align with international law and Ukraine's constitutional duty to protect its borders.
