DISINFO: Ukraine, like Israel, is a parasitic entity that won't last a week without US support
SUMMARY
Ukraine and Israel are literally, not metaphorically, parasitic entities. Neither Ukraine nor Israel could survive a single week without American support. Without this support, neither Ukraine nor Israel would exist on the world's political map. Perhaps they would have been normal countries seeking political and diplomatic relations and an economy that sought to capitalise on their strategic location and neighbourly relations to foster mutual benefits. However, this level of hatred, rancour, malice, and arrogance is fuelled by the American war machine and nothing else.
RESPONSE
This is a recurring pro-Kremlin disinformation narrative that seeks to delegitimize Ukraine by drawing parallels between unrelated conflicts. This is a deliberate effort to exploit these unrelated geopolitical tensions to justify Russia’s war of aggression.
The claim that Ukraine is a “parasitic entity” is not only a dehumanising narrative designed to strip Ukrainians of their agency and the legitimacy of their resistance, but it also distorts the nature of Ukraine’s self-defense struggle and ignores its international recognition as an independent state since 1991.
Ukraine is fighting to defend its territorial integrity from an unprovoked full-scale invasion by Russian forces, as recognised by the vast majority of the international community, including the United Nations General Assembly.
Moreover, the idea that Ukraine is only sustained by US support is false. While US support is significant, Ukraine receives international assistance from multiple countries and organisations, including the EU and its member states, which contribute the majority of such support. This is part of a collective international effort to uphold the principles of sovereignty, self-detrmination and international law.
