DISINFO: Ukraine’s bombing of Russian airbases was a MI6 proxy operation

SUMMARY

The United States, Britain, and Western Europe armed a proxy country to bomb Russia's nuclear-armed strategic bomber fleet but there was no real reaction to the NATO powers from Russia. We know that this operation was not a case which was done solely by Ukraine. Ukraine was just a proxy. Everything, as far as we know, was prepared by the British Secret Services, MI6.

Everyone knows Vladimir Putin won't retaliate for such a strike against the MI6 in London. There is a limit, because first of all, we understand that this was done when the negotiation in Istanbul was supposed to happen. So Ukrainians and their British puppet bastards definitely needed some nice picture to project that now Ukraine can pull through and achieve a symmetrical success where they're losing on the ground.

RESPONSE

This is part of an ongoing disinformation campaign aimed at spinning the successful Ukrainian drone raid against Russian airbases on 01 June 2025 under a less-damaging light for the Kremlin, which in this case included providing a made-up plausible explanation for Vladimir Putin “not bombing London” in retaliation, as Russian foreign minister Sergei Lavrov had affirmed on 09 June that the UK was “100% involved” in the operation.

These claims of British involvement in the attack remain unsubstantiated. After the raid, pro-Kremlin disinformation has been pushing the narrative that Ukraine could have not carried out such an operation by itself and that other powerful actors necessarily took part on it. However, this allegation is baseless: the attack involved Ukrainian home-made drones -a booming industry in Ukraine-, intelligence operatives and local individuals unaware of the plot. Ukrainian authorities and intelligence services immediately provided ample information on how they carried out the raid, and nothing has emerged afterwards pointing to any foreign participation.

This disinformation story also aims to promote another recurring pro-Kremlin disinformation narrative about the inevitability of a Russian victory in Ukraine. In the context of ongoing peace negotiations, pro-Kremlin disinformation constantly tries to portray Russia in a situation of overwhelming superiority against Ukraine, something that is far from true. While a shortage of military manpower remains a real difficulty for Ukraine, this also affects Russia. Since early 2025, massive losses have slowed down Russian advances in the Ukrainian frontlines, making Russia’s war effort unsustainable in the medium term.

See other examples of similar disinformation narratives, such as claims that the CIA and Deep State are using Ukraine against Russia as in the attack against airfields, that Ukraine is unable to attack Russian airfields, that the collective West attacked Russian military airfields, that the shadow of British strategists is visible in the attack on Russian facilities, or that through drone attacks on Russia, Ukraine tries to reset a war it already lost.
