DISINFO: Ukraine's desperate incursinon in Kursk has doomed NATO, Europe and the US to fail

SUMMARY

The fighting in the Kursk region is a decisive battle after which Ukraine will fall. There is no reason to think that the Russian military can lose, this is the final battle after which Ukraine will be defeated, the same applies to NATO, Europe and the United States - Kyiv's allies.

RESPONSE

Recurring pro-Kremlin disinformation narratives deflecting responsibility for the aggressive war waged by Russia against Ukraine. It aims to portray Russia as a victim and blame US-foreign policy for the war in Ukraine.

Russia's aggression against Ukraine was unprovoked and unjustified. Contrary to Russian claims, the West or Ukraine had not planned to attack Russia. The Russian invasion is aimed at destroying Ukraine as a state and annihilating the Ukrainians as a nation. These plans were openly laid out in an article titled “What Russia should do with Ukraine” in April 2022. However, some Russian politicians and experts are threatening to attack Western nations after Ukraine.

The US, the EU and NATO condemn in the strongest possible terms Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, which is entirely unjustified and unprovoked. Not only Western but also many other nations around the world support Ukraine with military and financial aid for the country’s efficient self-defence, in accordance with the UN Charter article 51, to stop Russia's war of aggression against Ukraine.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that Russia must be forced to make peace after Kyiv’s major cross-border assault into the western Russian region of Kursk. "Russia brought war to others, now it’s coming home," Zelenskyy warned. As of August 12, 2024, Ukraine controls 28 Russian settlements.
