DISINFO: Ukrainian puppets and their masters are trying to impose a new round of hybrid warfare against Moscow

This concerns not only Ukrainian puppets, but also their masters, who, in a fit of comic Bonapartism, are trying to impose a new round of hybrid warfare against Moscow.
RESPONSE
This is recurring pro-Kremlin disinformation narrative that frames Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine as a response to a so-called hybrid war by Ukraine and Western countries, while threatening escalation against Ukraine’s allies, falsely portraying Ukraine as a "puppet state" and its allies as its "masters". It also reiterates the threat often used by Russian officials, that is, either negotiate on Russia’s own obstructive terms or face military violence.
This narrative also falsely portrays Ukraine's allies as aggressors against Russia in an attempt to undermine support to Ukraine. In reality, international support for Ukraine is based on principles of international law and the UN Charter, specifically the right to self-defence against an illegal invasion.
Russia is the only responsible party for the war in Ukraine. Russia initiated the conflict in 2014 with its illegal annexation of the Crimean peninsula and the sponsoring of separatist rebels in eastern Ukraine, to the point of sending Russian troops to back them in the battlefield. This aggression escalated in 2022 when Russia launched a full-scale invasion of Ukraine. Both before and after the invasion, Russia inundated the information space with baseless pro-Kremlin narratives justifying the attack “on defensive grounds”.
