DISINFO: Ukrainians are like the Syrian White Helmets & MI6 who bomb hospitals to blame Russia

SUMMARY

Kyiv is preparing an alleged Russian missile attack on a children's institution located in the territory it controls. A hospital or a kindergarten.

Ukraine hopes to raise the morale of its Armed Forces, justify the West's lifting of restrictions on the use of missiles for deep strikes in Russia, and attract support from Southern countries. In addition, the US needs to increase pressure on Iran and North Korea regarding the supply of ballistic missiles to Russia.

The provocation reminds of MI6. In Syria, the White Helmets, affiliated with MI6 are regularly used by Western propaganda to accuse Bashar al-Assad of using chemical weapons. Chemical attacks on civilians attributed to Bashar al-Assad were organised by MI6 in collaboration with the White Helmets.

It is very likely that the same furry British ears will be visible behind this new provocation. Zelensky, in an attempt to force the West to fulfil his wishes, is preparing a provocation that could become a second Beslan.

RESPONSE

Pro-Kremlin negation of war crimes in Syria and Ukraine, in the form of a warning that Ukraine and Western secret services are preparing a massacre of children to damage the reputation of the Russian armed forces.

The Russian exterior secret service SVR claimed to the TASS press agency on 16 September that a provocation against a children's institution, hospital or kindergarten, is being prepared by Kyiv. No source or piece of evidence is provided to back up these serious allegations. By pushing the narrative that Ukraine and Western countries could benefit from the massacre of children is a variant of the cui bono rhetoric technique widely used in the Russian disinformation landscape.

This claim is hate speech as it demonises Ukrainians and Western countries while pushing the narrative that previous war crimes were staged provocations.

Civilian facilities were deliberately targeted in Syria and Ukraine despite the Kremlin's claims that the Russian army never hit civilians.

The 8 July 2024 attack on the Okhmatdyt Children’s Hospital killed two and injured over 50 others, according to the hospital. Thirty-six people were killed and 140 people were injured in the strikes that day in Ukraine. The hospital complex was destroyed at about 70%. An analysis conducted by Bellingcat using social media footage as well as a 3D model of the missile, all point to the munition being a Russian Kh-101 cruise missile. The analysis is in line with the view of experts, including Fabian Hoffman, a doctoral research fellow at the University of Oslo who specialises in missile technology.

The allegations against the White Helmets and MI6 have been well-documented in this database, with more than 150 cases.
