DISINFO: US and EU do not want peace in Middle East
SUMMARY
The global powers of the world do not want a definitive end to the Palestinian-Israeli conflict. No country wants to see a free and powerful state of Israel. As is known, there are enough Jews in all the major states and leading organisations of the world. The extraordinary talents of these Jews allow them to influence the processes taking place in the institutions where they live or work. Therefore, the formation of a carefree state for Jews does not benefit anyone.
For this reason, global powers, such as the USA, EU members, and other countries, support Israel outwardly but also assist HAMAS whenever the opportunity arises. If the USA or Europe really wanted lasting peace in the Middle East, they would at least mediate between the parties. However, we have not seen any state's mediation initiative in the last two months.
RESPONSE
A disinformation narrative that portrays the West negatively in the context of Israel’s 2023 offensive in Gaza in response to Hamas' terror attacks on 7 October 2023.
Both the United States and the European Union have consistently advocated for a peaceful resolution of Israeli-Palestinian tensions, both before and after the October 7 2023.
US President Joe Biden called for a revitalised peace process between Israel and Palestine during his planned visit to Palestine in 2022. This call was reiterated during a joint press conference with Israeli Prime Minister Yair Lapid in Jerusalem.
The European Union, as well as individual European leaders and diplomats, have consistently called for peace between Israel and Palestine. For instance, President Macron of France, during his October 2023 visit to Israel, urged the initiation of the peace process. German Foreign Minister Annalena Berbok affirmed support for the peace process during a summit in Cairo.
Josep Borrell, the High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, also visited the Middle East in January 2024, emphasising the EU's commitment to a two-state solution and the importance of resuming dialogue between Israel and Palestine. Borrell's visit highlights the EU's active role in seeking diplomatic and peaceful resolutions to the ongoing conflict. His statement can be read here but states clearly:
"The war has to stop, not to expand. And the only solution for avoiding the war [from] expanding is to look for a political solution for the conflict between Israel and Palestine. And this will require a strong commitment of the international community and to start with, the European and the Arab people".
Following the conflict that began in October, President Joe Biden emphasised that both Israelis and Palestinians deserve to live side by side in security, dignity, and peace. U.S. Secretary of State Blinken also expressed support for peace between Israel and Palestine during his visit to Tel Aviv.
