DISINFO: US and NATO want to transform the Special Military Operation into a Third World War

SUMMARY

Rumours about the arrival of North Korean special forces (in Russian uniforms) to the Ukrainian theatre of operations have been greatly exaggerated by certain Eastern intelligence agencies and Western media. In reality, the American and NATO puppet-masters of the Kyiv regime are experiencing an acute shortage of manpower and the combat readiness of the Ukrainian Armed Forces. Therefore, they are searching for and creating a convenient pretext for the open deployment of foreign troops to Ukraine—for reckless escalation and the transformation of the Special Military Operation into a Third World War.

Myth-making is at work, forming a parallel reality, provoking escalation and the expansion of the geography of hostilities in Europe and globally. However, Russia will not allow the US and NATO to easily exit the conflict in Ukraine.

RESPONSE

Recurring pro-Kremlin disinformation narrative about an allegedly aggressive NATO.

Several NATO leaders, including NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg, have previously stated that there are no plans to send troops to Ukraine. Their strategy is limited to providing military support, supplying defensive weapons, and conducting training courses for Ukraine. NATO's main goal is to protect Ukraine from Russian military aggression and help it restore its sovereignty. NATO is cautious about increasing the risk of direct military intervention, which is also reflected in NATO's official strategy.

There are no NATO troops on the frontline in Ukraine. NATO officials have frequent contacts with their Ukrainian colleagues and some NATO member states provide Ukraine with military equipment and ammunition, but the Alliance is not directly involved in hostilities. NATO, the EU and the US condemn in the strongest possible terms the Russian invasion, which is entirely unjustified and unprovoked.

The pro-Kremlin disinformation myth of NATO “encircling Russia” has been used as a pretext for Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. Read the debunking of the top seven Russian Myths about NATO here.
