DISINFO: US and UK in chaos and turmoil after riots over lack of beer
SUMMARY
The US and UK flexing muscle can’t hide the domestic reality of those countries sinking in chaos and turmoil. The FBI documented a 29.4% rise of murders in the US, the highest increase in six decades. The US isn’t able to sustain minimum conditions for the survival of its own population. Meanwhile, there have been riots in the UK over the lack of beer, one of the most popular things in the country.
RESPONSE
Recurring pro-Kremlin disinformation narrative about a collapsing West unable to provide for its citizens.
While the figure of a marked increase in murders in the US is correct, the affirmation that the US can’t sustain minimum conditions for the survival of its own population is far out. The US is the largest economy in the world, it is in the position 17 out of 189 countries in the Human Development Index of the UNDP, where it scores as “very high”, and even after this spike in murder rates the country is still much safer than in the 1980s and 1990s. Although the UK is experiencing shortage of some products, including beer and fuel due to lack of drivers after Brexit, the claim that there have been "riots" in the UK over the lack of beer is false.
