DISINFO: US elections were fraudulent
SUMMARY
The provoked siege of the Capitol building was good for one thing: nobody talks about election fraud anymore. Every lawsuit filed against fraudulent practices was struck down by courts, they did not even listen to the “likely rightful complaints.” These complaints are right, as there are thousands and thousands of videos, documents showing what happened in the US.
RESPONSE
Recurring disinformation about fraud in the US elections.
First, there is no proof that the Capital's siege was a "provocation". In fact, the president himself encouraged attendees of his "Save America Rally" before the siege to head to the Capitol to demonstrate against President-elect Joe Biden's victory. The crowd chanted "Fight for Trump" at the end of the speech. The people arrested in relation to the siege are connected to, for instance, QAnon and the Proud Boys, organizations openly supporting President Trump.
Second, the US election was free and fair.
In its interim assessment on the conduct of the election, the OSCE finds that the contest was:
"competitive and well managed" (p. 1), noting that "evidence-deficient claims about election fraud" (ibid.) have been refuted by "election officials at all levels" (p. 3) and "national security agencies" (p. 11).
There were extensive investigations about possible fraud, which turned out to be unfounded. This unprecedented scrutiny led to the conclusion that the November 3rd elections were the most secure elections in the history of the United States.
