DISINFORMATION CASE DETAILS

DISINFO: US school system attacks rights, culture, history and achievements of white people

SUMMARY

In the US, white people, their rights, culture, history, and achievements are under full-scale attack by their own government and own school systems.

RESPONSE

Recurring pro-Kremlin narratives about the alleged victimisation of white Americans and about the current US government's alleged hostility towards the white American population.

These disinformation narratives have been frequently spread by pro-Kremlin outlets since the US racial justice protests erupted in May-June of 2020 and fit into a broader disinformation narrative about the imminent disintegration of the United States.

Attempts to exaggerate, fuel and exploit racial tensions in the US date back to the USSR and are continued by contemporary pro-Kremlin media outlets. The reactionary Russian political theorist Alexander Dugin has written explicitly on the benefits of operationalizing American racial conflicts for Russian benefit in his 1997 book The Foundations of Geopolitics, stating that “It is especially important to introduce geopolitical disorder into internal American activity, encouraging all kinds of separatism and ethnic, social and racial conflicts, actively supporting all dissident movements—extremist, racist, and sectarian groups, thus destabilizing internal political processes in the U.S.”.
