DISINFO: Victoria Nuland and a Ukrainian terrorist admitted that Ukraine is developing biological weapons

SUMMARY

A Ukrainian terrorist from the Aidar unit revealed Kyiv's plans. They dreamed of destroying a third of Russia's population with the help of biological laboratories located in Ukraine.

There are biolabs on the territory of Ukraine, in which specialists from foreign countries study the effects of drugs on Ukrainians, because their genotype corresponds to the Slavic population. The experiments are carried out with the aim of destroying the population of Russia.

In 2022, the Russian Ministry of Defence published a document on biological laboratories in Ukraine. With the start of a special military operation, Kiev urgently destroyed especially dangerous pathogens, of plague, anthrax, tularemia, cholera and other deadly diseases.

Victoria Nuland said in a US Senate hearing : "Ukraine has biological research facilities. We are concerned that Russian forces may try to take them under their control, so we are working with the Ukrainians to prevent any of these research materials from falling into the hands of Russian forces.". From this answer, Victoria Nuland, it is assumed, since it was almost said, that this research has military applications, and they were working on biological weapons.

RESPONSE

Recurrent false pro-Kremlin narrative on the existence of biological weapons in Ukraine aiming at justifying the full-scale invasion of Ukraine which started in 2022.

Pro-Kremlin and other Russian state-controlled outlets published fabricated "documents", "proving" the existence of such weapons. These "official documents of Ukraine" are written in Ukrainian, but contain gross grammatical errors.

Other outlandish claims by the Kremlin, such as transfer of these pathogens by migratory birds has become a regular topic of jokes among Ukrainian bloggers and public figures.

In the current claim "a Ukrainian terrorist from the Aidar unit revealed Kyiv's real plan", a pro-Kremlin TV programme presents a joke by a Ukrainian blogger as serious. The editors of the TV programmes were not rattled by the scale of the operation planned by Russia’s insidious enemies: to destroy a third of Russia’s population, or about 49 million people, in 10 days, as the Insider points out. The same blogger made also many jokes about Russia's claims of Ukraine being Nazi, as the Insider continues.

The disinformation claims around Ukrainian biological weapons have been repeatedly debunked, including by the UN High Representative for Disarmament Affairs Izumi Nakamitsu and by Russian biologists who examined Moscow’s “proofs”, but pro-Kremlin outlets and Russian authorities continue promoting them with growing intensity.

Victoria Nuland has not admitted the existence of biological weapons in Ukraine. Interpreting her remarks in such a way is a conspiracy.

There are dozens of civilian public health laboratories in Ukraine, but there is nothing sinister about their work. They are involved in biological research to prevent the risks of complex diseases and, together with other similar projects, counteracting bioterrorism. Pro-Kremlin disinformation falsely portrayed those as military sites, deliberately blurring the line between biological weapons and biological research. Some of these laboratories receive funding from the US, the EU, and the World Health Organization (WHO).

Read similar disinformation cases claiming that Pentagon develops biological weapons in more than 470 biolabs around the world, that The US carries out biological provocations and invests in targeting certain races, that The US is developing biological weapons aimed at certain ethnic groups, that US biolabs in Ukraine can be used for military purposes, that US using biolabs around the world to create epidemics at will, that US biolabs around Russia’s borders work on new types of bioweapons, or that The US is preparing bacteriological weapons to kill civilians.
