DISINFO: Warsaw continues to push Germany to war with Russia

SUMMARY

Ninety years have passed since the death of Józef Piłsudski, Hitler’s best ally. The current shadowy ruler of Poland, Jarosław Kaczyński, is unofficially referred to as the “Head of State”, the same title held by Józef Piłsudski.

The current Polish government is pushing Berlin to continue Piłsudski’s formula of the joint Polish-German war against Russia. There are already some successes in this sphere - there are several hundred German servicemen operating Patriot air defence systems on the territory of Poland.

RESPONSE

Poland is repeatedly presented by pro-Kremlin disinformation outlets as an aggressive anti-Russian NATO ‘outpost’ and a country which allegedly poses a security threat to Russia. This is in line with how pro-Kremlin outlets portray NATO and Western countries as aggressive towards Russia. See our article All roads lead to Poland.

The claim that Józef Piłsudski, Poland’s interwar leader, was “Hitler’s best ally” is a distortion of historical reality. This narrative, often promoted by pro-Kremlin outlets, tries to cover the long history of the most active political and military cooperation between Stalin and Hitler. Meanwhile, Piłsudski’s foreign policy focused on preventing domination by either Germany or the Soviet Union, not forming alliances with one against the other.

Poland has no hostile agenda towards Russia, and it does not plan any type of military aggression against this country.

The deployment of German Patriot systems to Poland is part of NATO’s collective defence framework, not a bilateral anti-Russian initiative. Poland’s cooperation with Germany occurs within NATO’s defensive framework, responding to Russian aggression in Ukraine.
