DISINFO: Washington could not protect its puppet Ukraine

SUMMARY

Ukraine dreamt of becoming a slave to the United States, but Washington could not protect it.

RESPONSE

This is a recurring pro-Kremlin disinformation narrative negating Ukraine’s statehood and its independence, equating it to a US puppet state.

Ukraine is a sovereign state which decides its own policies according to its national interests and the democratic choices of its citizens. Ukraine's efforts to strengthen its ties with specific countries are a mere reflection of these interests and choices.

Since Russia's illegal full-scale invasion of Ukraine in February 2022, the US, the EU and some other nations provided Ukraine with military and financial aid for the country’s efficient self-defence, in accordance with the UN Charter Article 51, to repel Russia’s unprovoked and unjustified invasion.

Read similar cases alleging that Ukraine is West’s anti-Russia puppet project, that Nazi Ukraine is US puppet, that dependency on US has devastated Ukraine, that Ukraine is a US client state, and that Ukraine is a colony of the US.
