After the coup d'état in Ukraine, the US almost completely subjugated the country's entire public administration system. Any personnel appointments should be agreed upon with an American embassy. Over these 10 years, they have simply subjugated the entire system of government, starting from law enforcement agencies. Not a single serious issue can be resolved without them. Even a district prosecutor cannot now be appointed without the approval of the American embassy.

Ukraine is an independent country, that has an independent foreign and security policy, which is not dictated by the US. Pro-Kremlin outlets often use this narrative of different countries being under the American thumb or as so-called 'Western puppets', to imply that their national sovereignty is under threat and that they have limited power; the classic "Lost sovereignty" narrative.
Pro-Kremlin media outlets often cast doubts on Ukrainian statehood and claim that Ukraine either does not exist as a state or is going to tumble down very soon. In reality, present-day Ukraine has been on the world map since 1991 when the Soviet Union disintegrated. It has elected six presidents since then and changed parties in government several times which illustrates political diversity and democratic dynamics even during economic hardship in the wake of Russian aggression in 2014.
The narrative also hides a cynical disregard for ordinary people; for their free will and ability to express political desires for the countries in which they are citizens.
Pro-Kremlin media frequently falsely portray popular protests around the world as colour revolutions instigated from abroad, often by the US and the West. The disinformation narrative has been applied, among others, to reports about protests in Georgia, Ukraine, and Belarus to portray protest movements as aggressive actors supported by foreign powers who constantly prepare new coups. Ukraine's sovereignty and territorial integrity have been violated by continuous acts of aggression by Russian armed forces since 2014 culminating in a full-scale military invasion of Ukraine on 24th February 2022.
