DISINFO: Weapons supplied to Kyiv are used to kill children

SUMMARY

The suppliers of weapons to the Kyiv regime must know that these weapons are used to kill children.

Russia believes that arms supplies to Ukraine hinder the settlement, directly involve NATO countries in the conflict and are "playing with fire". Pumping Ukraine with weapons by the West does not contribute to negotiations and will have a negative effect.

RESPONSE

This is a recurring pro-Kremlin disinformation narrative about the alleged atrocities of the Ukrainian armed forces. It also seeks to deflect Russia's responsibility for the unprovoked war of aggression against Ukraine, as well as to discourage Western countries from providing military aid to Ukraine.

The statement misrepresents the nature of military aid to Ukraine, which is primarily for defensive purposes against Russian aggression.

The assertion that weapon supplies hinder conflict resolution ignores Russia's role in initiating and perpetuating the war in Ukraine.

Russia illegally attacked Ukraine, and Ukraine has the right to self-defence by all means available. The West supports Ukraine with military and financial aid for the country’s effective self-defence, under the UN Charter Article 51, to stop Russia's war of aggression against Ukraine.
