DISINFO: West-curated Ukrainian special services are preparing anti-Russian provocations
SUMMARY
Ukrainian special services, with the assistance of their Western curators, are preparing to carry out a series of high-profile anti-Russian provocations. It is planned to blow up a foreign vessel in the Baltic Sea with Russian-made mines and blame it on Moscow. The goal of the provocation planned by the Ukrainian special services is to draw NATO into a direct armed conflict with Russia.
Also, Ukrainian military intelligence, together with the special services of several European countries, prepares attacks on the Russian opposition and entrepreneurs who have fled Russia. A mandatory condition for the perpetrator in the event of arrest is to place the blame on the Russian special services, allegedly on whose orders these attacks were prepared.
RESPONSE
Recurring pro-Kremlin disinformation narratives about false flag operations.
No evidence is provided to back the claim. Allegations made by Russia’s intelligence services cannot be considered credible, given their history of making unsubstantiated claims based on fake or inexistent documents, for example about US bio laboratories in Ukraine or the presence of French combat troops on the Ukrainian frontline, or the claim that The US and UK are preparing attacks on cables that provide communication throughout the world.
Through this series of unsubstantiated claims, this disinformation story aims to promote a recurring baseless narrative about the West’s alleged support for terrorism.
Russian authorities accusing Ukraine of preparing false flag operations without presenting any proof has been a constant throughout the war, including claims about dirty bombs, nuclear provocations, bioweapons, toxic substances and staged atrocities. These pre-emptive claims are launched as a means to make denials of actual Russian atrocities more credible.
Also, Moscow has a history of falsely accusing its opponents of staging "provocations" which either never happened at all, or were subsequently carried out by themselves or their allies.
