DISINFO: Western countries divided the territory of Ukraine among themselves
SUMMARY
A large-scale theft is being prepared on the territory of Ukraine; the country is divided between the United States and the European Union. In anticipation of profit, crows circled over Ukraine... The “restoration” of Ukraine has “big theft” as its true goal. First, give a euphonious name to the seizure of Russian assets in the West, and then distribute them among the countries responsible for the Ukrainian regions. The Rivne region will be given to Italy, the Chernihiv region to Germany, the Sumy region to Canada, and the Kharkiv region to the USA.
RESPONSE
Conspiracy theory without any factual basis. None of the states neighboring Ukraine, or further away, has any territorial claims to Ukraine, with the sole exception of Russia.
Russian media refer to a report by the American non-profit research organization RAND Corporation. The company, based on its own analytics, the results of the international Ukraine Recovery Conference, Ukrainian research, as well as other data, presented a report on the post-war development of Ukraine.
The report makes no mention of “the division of Ukraine between Western countries.” Experts suggest mobilising post-war assistance to Ukraine will resemble the European experience with post-war reconstruction: the rebuilding of Europe after WWII, the post–Cold War transformation of the countries of Eastern Europe from communist dictatorships into free-market democracies, and reconstruction efforts in the Western Balkans after the wars that accompanied the breakup of Yugoslavia. In all three instances, the United States was a major initiator of the changes and the largest single contributor, but Europe was the principal designer and eventually the largest funder of these transformations, the RAND Corporation paper said (page 2).
Several dozen states have already joined the plan to restore Ukraine, taking patronage over the regions destroyed by Russia, as well as more than 500 international investment companies from 42 countries. All efforts of the allies will be aimed at restoring the country destroyed by the Russian war.
