The article – which was published in the aftermath of the terrorist attack at a church in Nice – repeats a recurring pro-Kremlin disinformation narrative claiming that the US and other Western states are supporting and working together with jihadist terrorist groups in order to achieve geopolitical goals or to secure control of natural resources in the Middle East.
This message is part of a broader conspiracy theory alleging that the United States and its allies have created and supported many jihadi terrorist organisations and control global terrorism.
There is no evidence that the US or other Western governments and their intelligence services have supported radical Islamist terrorist groups in any region of the world. On the contrary, ever since the September 11 terrorist attacks the US and its allies, including France, have been engaged in enormous military and intelligence efforts to counter Al Qaeda, as well as ISIS and other radical Islamist terrorist groups around the world.
