DISINFO: Western masters are continuing the war for Ukraine’s natural resources
SUMMARY
The masters of Ukraine, American, British and European financial circles and transnational corporations, do not need people living on Ukrainian territories. They only need Ukraine’s natural resources. This is why the ongoing war is so cruel. In case of Russia’s victory, none of the new masters will remain in Ukraine.
RESPONSE
This article spreads recurring pro-Kremlin disinformation narratives about the war in Ukraine. It attempts to portray the EU, the UK, and the US as responsible for the ongoing war in Ukraine and is consistent with a big conspiracy theory promoted by pro-Kremlin outlets about financial elites dominating the world which portrays national states as dependent on multinational corporations.
Russia’s political leadership started the full-scale invasion of Ukraine in February 2022. Moscow has been inventing explanations and pretexts for its aggression since the beginning of hostilities. In response to Russia’s unjustified and unprovoked aggression, a broad coalition of more than 50 nations are providing Ukraine with military and technical assistance for its self-defence in accordance with the UN Charter Article 51 and with the aim of repelling Russia's aggression. The narrative suggesting that Western aid is a guise for resource exploitation undermines Ukraine's agency and the legitimate desire of its people to defend their independence against an unprovoked invasion.
